Electronic Notary in New York

New York's Electronic Signatures and Records Act allows electronic notarization for real property documents. Electronic notarizations of real property records must comply with and follow all the requirements for papernotarization. It states that the notary's signature, seal and certificate may be electronic. The signature, seal, and certificate must be attached to or logically associate with the document or signature being notarized and follow the PRIA Notary version 2.4.1 standard. New York has not enacted the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act and no other New York law authorizes electronic notarizations of documents.
